Itinerary
Upon arriving at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, also known as Guwahati Airport – the Gateway to North East India – and completing all customs formalities, please proceed to the exit gate. A Greenlimon Holidays representative will be waiting to greet you with a paging board displaying your name.
Later, drive to Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya, also known as the “Scotland of the East” (approximately 130 km / 3 hours). En route, visit Umiam Lake, also known as Barapani, the largest artificial lake in the region. You have the option to enjoy water activities such as boating, angling, kayaking, and water skiing.
Upon arrival in Shillong, check in at the hotel. The rest of the day is free, or you may explore the local market at Police Bazaar for shopping.
Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
After breakfast, drive to Nongstoin (approx. 95 km). From there, take a cab to Nongkhnum Island approx 14 Kms, the largest river island in Meghalaya and second largest in Asia. Enjoy sandy beaches, boating, fishing, and camping—a perfect escape for nature lovers. Overnight stay at Nongkhnum Island.
After morning breakfast, drive to Mawsynram, known as the wettest place on Earth. On the way, stop by Lum Symper Hill and the Mawjyngbuin Cave (Mawsynram cave) and Naturally formed Shiva Linga.
Upon arrival at Mawlyngbna, explore Umkhakoi Lake, known for water activities like kayaking and swimming. Stay at Weiing Lakeside Camp in nearby Phlang Mawsyrpat village for a peaceful retreat.
After morning breakfast, visit Krem Puri, the world’s longest sandstone cave, which requires a steep descent and guided entry. Then, explore Krem Dam, a massive cave with an underground river and sandy beaches.
Trek into the jungles of Phlangwanbroi to spot the rare Hoolock Gibbon. Later, visit Mawlyngbna’s fossil sites and the intriguing Split Rock, believed to have formed during the 1897 earthquake.
Later drive to Shillong en-route stop at Laitlum Canyons – a hidden gem of Meghalaya – offers stunning panoramic views of cloud-covered hills, deep gorges, steep cliffs, and rolling landscapes. Later, drive to Shillong. Overnight stay at Shillong
