The Hornbill Festival Nagaland 2026, held from December 1–10 at Kisama Heritage Village near Kohima, showcases Naga culture through traditional dances, music, food, sports, and handicrafts.
Itinerary
Upon arrival at Dimapur Airport . Meet and greet by our guide later transfer Kohima approx. 2 Hours .En-route, stop for tea and Visit vegetable markets, where you shall see local vendors selling their locally produced fruits and vegetables. Upon arrival , check in to your Hotel . Evening at leisure. Overnight stay at Kohima
After breakfast, begin the day with a visit to the local market, WWII Cemetery, and Cathedral in Kohima. Following a brief city tour, drive to Kisama to enjoy the rest of the day at the Hornbill Festival. Visit the Morungs, where you can witness all 16 Naga tribes and neighbouring communities dressed in their traditional attire for the festival. Enjoy vibrant cultural performances showcasing their rich traditions and heritage. Later, return to Kohima for an overnight stay.
After breakfast, explore the nearby villages of Phesama and Kigwema and experience the culture and traditions of the traditional Angami villages. Later, drive to Kisama to enjoy more of the Hornbill Festival. Witness vibrant cultural activities, visit the Bamboo Pavilion, museum, and various stalls at the venue, and savor authentic Naga cuisine. Later, return to Kohima for an overnight stay.
Today, enjoy a detailed tour of Khonoma, known as “The First Green Village of India.” On arrival, explore the village by visiting the Morungs, traditional gates, forts, and interacting with the local people to experience their unique traditions and cultural lifestyle. You will also have the opportunity to witness and participate in local crafts. Enjoy a picnic lunch at the buffer zone of the community sanctuary or amidst the scenic terrace fields. In the evening, drive back to Kohima for an overnight stay.
Morning after breakfast we shall drive to Dimapur to connect your flight for your onward journey.
