The Hornbill Festival, held annually from December 1st to 10th at Kisama Heritage Village near Kohima, Nagaland, is a vibrant celebration of the state’s rich cultural heritage. Organized by the Government of Nagaland.  17 tribes unite in a vibrant showcase of culture, folk performances, crafts, and cuisine. Itinerary

Upon arriving at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, also known as Guwahati Airport – the Gateway to North East India – and completing all customs formalities, please proceed to the exit gate. A Greenlimon Holidays representative will be waiting to greet you with a paging board displaying your name.

Later drive to Kaziranga National Park approx. 4:30 Hours.

Kaziranga National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Assam, is home to over 75% of the world’s Great Indian One-Horned Rhinoceroses. Located on the southern bank of the Brahmaputra River, it also shelters tigers, elephants, wild buffaloes, and over 400 bird species
Note : : National Park is open from 1st November to 30th April

Upon arrival, Check In hotel.  Dinner and overnight stay at Kaziranga National Park

Guwahati Airport - Kaziranga National Park  ( 240 Kms / 4 :30 Hours

Wake up early and enjoy tea or coffee, then proceed to Kaziranga National Park for  Elephant Safari (optional and subject to availability), followed by one Jeep Safari after breakfast. After lunch, enjoy another Jeep Safari.

Enjoy a 45-minute elephant safari—perfect for spotting one-horned rhinos and wild elephants up close through tall grass, with great photo ops in the misty central range.

1st Trip : 0515 hrs to 0615 hrs
2nd Trip :  0615 hrs to 0715 hrs

Jeep Safaris are permitted on pre-defined tourist circuits within Kaziranga National Park- currently at the following four points. Each of these circuits takes about one and half to two and half hour

JEEP SAFARI
Morning Entry time between 0730 to 1000 Hours. No entry after 1000 Hrs
Afternoon: Entry time between 1330 to 1500 Hours. No entry after 1500 Hrs .

In evening enjoy cultural show you have options, as some local youth organized Cultural show in Kohora in auditorium They usually organize 3 to 5 types of cultural dance along with famous Bihu dance. Overnight in Kaziranga.

After an early breakfast, drive to Nimati Ghat (approximately 3 hours) to catch a ferry to Majuli Island — a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the world’s largest inhabited river island, located on the Brahmaputra River. This land, with a population of about 1.6 million people, is endowed with rich heritage and is home to neo-vaishnavite culture. You will visit Kamalabari Satra, the oldest satra in Majuli Island, Samuguri Satra which is famous for mask making and the Mishing village.

Later return to Main Land  Jorhat, located in northeastern Assam along a Brahmaputra tributary, is known as the ‘Tea Capital of Assam.’ It serves as a gateway to Upper Assam and Nagaland and is famed for its tea gardens.

Upon arrival check In hotel  Dinner and overnight stay at Jorhat.

Kaziranga National Park- Majuli Island- Jorhat

Early Morning  drive to Gibbon Wildlife Sanctuary  approx 22 km  Approx 45  Minute , is a small forest reserve surrounded by tea estates. Known for its Hoolock gibbon population, it also shelters 40 species of mammals, including langurs and various macaques.
Upon arrival, trek inside the forest with a local guide for about 2 hours to spot primates such as the Hoolock Gibbon and Capped Langur.

Drive to  through forests and tea gardens, passing Dimapur—the commercial hub of Nagaland—to reach Kohima, the state capital. Upon arrival , Check In hotel .Overnight at Kohima.

Jorhat-Gibbon Wildlife = Kohmia  ( 5 :30 Hours )

After breakfast, visit the World War II Cemetery and the local market. Then drive to Kisama Heritage Village to attend the Hornbill Festival—one of Northeast India’s biggest cultural celebrations, held annually from December 1–10. The festival showcases the rich traditions, attire, music, dance, cuisine, and crafts of various Naga tribes. In the evening, return to Kohima. Overnight stay at Kohima.

Visit the community-run sanctuary to spot rare birds like Blyth’s Tragopan, enjoy peaceful nature walks, and experience village life up close. Overnight stay at Kohima
