Plan 8-Day Best of Gujarat Tour – Wildlife, Landmarks & Religious Sites: Somnath and Dwarka Temples, Statue of Unity, and Gir National Park Safari.
Itinerary
Upon arriving at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (AMD), also known as Ahmedabad Airport, and completing all customs procedures, please proceed to the exit gate. You will be met and greeted by a Greenlimon Holidays representative.
Later, drive to Vadodara, a city known for its majestic kingdoms and rich traditions (Approx. 110 km / 2 hours). (Standard check-in time is 2:00 PM). Upon arrival, check in at the hotel.
After lunch, visit the Laxmi Vilas Palace, built in 1890 by Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III and designed by Major Charles Mant. The palace showcases grand Indo-Saracenic architecture and spans over 500 acres—four times the size of Buckingham Palace.
The rest of the day is free for relaxation. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Breakfast at the hotel. Later, drive to Kevadia to visit the Statue of Unity (90 km / approx. 2 hours).
Note: The Statue of Unity is open from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Tuesday to Sunday. It remains closed on Mondays.
Upon arrival, visit the Valley of Flowers, spread over 24 acres along the Narmada River, known for its vibrant blooms. Then, explore the state-of-the-art zoological park, home to exotic animals and birds from various regions, and enjoy a jungle safari.
Next, visit the iconic Statue of Unity, the world’s tallest statue, dedicated to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Take in the panoramic views from the viewing gallery. Afterwards, enjoy the Ekta Cruise, followed by the Projection Mapping show at the statue.
The Statue of Unity laser show starts daily at 6:45 PM and duration time for 30 minutes. It illuminates the 182-meter-tall structure and uses lights, lasers, and narration to depict Sardar Patel’s life journey.
Return to the hotel. Overnight stay at Kevadia, Statue of Unity
After breakfast drive to to Bhavnagar – Approx 5:30 Hours Upon arrival, check in to the hotel.
Later, visit Nishkalank Mahadev Temple – Located at Koliyak Beach, about 25 km from Bhavnagar. This unique Hindu temple becomes accessible only during low tide, and devotees walk barefoot from the shore to the temple. A famous fair known as Bhadarvi Mela is held here on the new moon night in the month of Shravan.

There is no fixed timetable for darshan. However, the ideal time is generally between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM, when the tide is low and the temple can be reached on foot.
Note: It is Mandatory to check the tide timings before visiting the temple
Based on the Lunar Tithi, tide timings change, affecting temple darshan. You can visit when the water recedes; darshan stops when the tide returns. Plan your visit accordingly.

After breakfast drive to Gir National Park –the only abode of the Asiatic lion. En- route visit Palitana
The Palitana temples, located on Shatrunjaya Hill near Palitana city in Gujarat’s Bhavnagar district, are among the holiest pilgrimage sites in Jainism, along with Shikharji in Jharkhand. The hill around 863 marble temples, with the main shrine dedicated to Rishabha, the first tirthankara. Reaching the top requires climbing about 3,500 steps.

Gir National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary, also known as Sasan Gir, is famous for being the home of the Asiatic lions. Safari bookings for the Gir Jungle Trail remain suspended from 16th June to 15th October every year due to weather conditions.

Gir Jungle Trail is the core zone of Gir National Park, offering the best chance to spot lions in their natural habitat.
Best Time to Visit: Early mornings (6:00 AM–9:00 AM) are ideal for wildlife sightings. The jungle trail is conducted in open 4×4 jeeps, accompanied by a trained naturalist and driver. The route takes you deep into the park, providing the best opportunities to spot Asiatic lions, leopards, hyenas, and other wildlife.You’ll pass through dense teak forests, grasslands, and water bodies like the Hiran River, a popular spot for marsh crocodiles.
Return to hotel . After breakfast proceed to Shree Somnath Mahadev Temple, the first of the Aadi Jyotirlingas. The temple is located on the shores of the Arabian Sea, at the westernmost corner of the Indian subcontinent.

visit the Somnath Temple. After completing the rituals, proceed to the pilgrimage site of Bhalka Tirth—the sacred spot where Lord Krishna was mistakenly shot by an arrow.
Next, visit Dehotsarg Teerth, the place where Lord Krishna’s elder brother, Balarama, took his final journey. Then, explore the Suraj Mandir (Sun Temple), dedicated to the Sun God, followed by a visit to Kamnath Mahadev Temple, located near the Triveni Sangam—a holy confluence of three rivers: Hiran, Kapila, and Saraswati.
In the evening, attend the Aarti and then watch “Jay Somnath” Sound and Light Show : 7:45 PM at the temple. Overnight stay at the hotel.
After breakfast at the Hotel. Drive to Dwarka (approximately 5hours —The land of Lord Krishna. Along the way, enjoy scenic views along the coastal highway.
En route, stop at the Sudama Temple—the only temple in the world dedicated to Sudama, a close friend of Lord Krishna and Porbandar to visit Kirti Mandir, the birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi
Upon arrival in Dwarka , check in to the hotel.
In the evening, attend the aarti at the Dwarkadhish Temple. The temple opens at 6:30 AM and closes at 9:30 PM.

Dinner and an overnight stay at Hotel
In the morning, take a holy dip in the Gomti River before proceeding to the renowned Shree Dwarkadhish Temple, also known as the Jagat Mandir—a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Krishna.The temple opens at 6:30 AM and closes at 9:30 PM.
Later, visit the sacred Shri Nageshwar Jyotirlinga, The temple opens at 6:30 AM and closes at 9:30 PMone of the twelve Jyotirlinga shrines of Lord Shiva.
Continue to Gopi Talav, a small and serene pond believed to be the place where the Gopis (cowherds) of Vrindavan reunited with Lord Krishna for their final dance and merged with the sacred. Don’t forget to collect some Gopi Chandan, a holy sandalwood paste associated with the site.
Proceed to Bet Dwarka, approximately 30 km from Dwarka, also known as Shankhodhar. It is believed to have been the residence of Lord Krishna during his ruling years. Bet Dwarka is accessible via a short boat ride or the newly constructed Sudarshan Setu bridge.
On the way back, visit the Rukmini Temple, dedicated to Lord Krishna’s consort, Rukmini.
Later, spend some time at Shivrajpur Beach—the first Blue Flag beach in Gujarat.
Drive to Jamnagar approx 2:30 Hours .Overnight stay at Jamnagar.
After breakfast , In transfer to Ahmedabad Airport En-route visit the Bala Hanuman Temple, known for its nonstop Ramdhun since 1956, which is mentioned in the Guinness Book of World Records.
