Kutch Rann Utsav 2025-26
What began as a three-day event has now grown into a 100-day celebration held in Dhordo, near the Rann of Kutch, where a vibrant tent city is recreated every year. Rann Utsav is one of India’s most anticipated festivals, showcasing the beauty of the White Desert and the rich cultural heritage of Kutch. The region, also known as ‘Kachchh’, takes its name from the Sanskrit word for tortoise due to its shape. Despite the harsh desert landscape, Kutch thrives with colorful villages, traditional crafts, and resilient people.
Itinerary
Upon arriving at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (AMD), also known as Ahmedabad Airport, and completing all customs procedures, please proceed to the exit gate. You will be met and greeted by a Greenlimon Holidays representative. Later, drive to Bhuj 340 Kms/ 7 Hours ) . Upon arrival, check in to the hotel (standard check-in time is 2:00 PM). The rest of the day is free for relaxation. Dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel.
After breakfast at the hotel, drive to Kalo Dungar (Black Hill), located approximately 90 km away, a 2-hour journey. It is the highest point in Kutch and offers a panoramic view of the vast, stark landscape of the Rann of Kutch. On the way, there’s a spot known for a fascinating optical illusion called the “magnetic hill effect,” where vehicles appear to roll uphill against gravity. Though it’s just an illusion, it adds an interesting twist to the journey.
Later, drive to Dhordo. Upon arrival, check in at Rann Utsav – The Tent City. Enjoy lunch and rest for an hour. In the evening, visit the Rann of Kutch and enjoy activities like camel rides, paragliding, and camel cart rides. Witness the breathtaking sunset before returning to the Tent City. Later, experience the vibrant culture of Kutch with entertaining performances at the Cultural Activity Area. Dinner and overnight stay at The Tent City, Dhordo.
After breakfast in the morning, drive to Dholavira (approx. 105 km / 2 hours), en route experiencing the famous “Road to Heaven.” This route is known for its stunning views and the surreal feeling of driving through endless landscapes, often surrounded by salt flats and desert scenery. The stretch, about 30 kilometers long, connects Khavda to Dholavira in Gujarat.
After lunch, visit the Archaeological Excavation Site — the largest Harappan civilization relic in India and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offering a fascinating insight into this once-flourishing ancient city.
Later, drive to Bhuj (approx. 130 km / 2.5 hours). Upon arrival, check in at the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at Bhuj.
Breakfast at hotel. In time transfer to Ahmedabad Airport for onward Journey
