The Simhastha Kumbh Mela 2028 in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, will be held from March 27 to May 27, 2028, on the banks of the holy Shipra River. This historic event, which takes place once every 12 years, will be celebrated over two months.
During this sacred festival, millions of devotees gather to take a holy dip in the Shipra River. The festival is renowned for its deep religious and spiritual significance. It is believed that bathing in the river during this time frees a person from sins and helps attain salvation (moksha).
From April 9 to May 8, 2028, there will be three Shahi Snan (royal baths) and seven Parv Snan (auspicious bathing days).
