Amarnath Yatra 2026

The Amarnath Yatra 2026, one of India’s most revered pilgrimages, is scheduled from July 3 to August 9, 2026 (38 days).

Registration begins on April 15, 2026, and can be completed online via the official SASB website or offline at designated bank branches. Pilgrims must carry a Compulsory Health Certificate (CHC) issued by an authorized doctor on or after April 8, 2026. An RFID card is mandatory and will be issued after eKYC verification.

The yatra is open to devotees aged 13 to 70 years. Two routes are available:

  • Pahalgam Route (46 km): Ideal for a gradual and traditional trek
  • Baltal Route (14 km): Shorter and faster but more challenging

Helicopter services are available from both routes up to Panchtarni for pilgrims who may not be able to trek. Basic facilities such as tents and accommodation are arranged along the route.

Due to high altitude and unpredictable weather conditions, pilgrims are strongly advised to maintain good physical fitness and carry adequate warm clothing and essentials
