Gangtok Lachen Lachung Tour Package : North Sikkim

Upon arrival at Jalpaiguri Railway Station/Bagdogra Airport, you will be greeted by a Greenlimon Holidays representative and transferred to Gangtok – the capital of Sikkim. The journey covers approximately 120 km (4 hours) at an elevation of 5,412 ft (1,650 m).After arrival, check in to your hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay will be in Gangtok.

After breakfast at the hotel, proceed for a same-day excursion to Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir, approximately 55 km / 2-hour one-way journey via the Gangtok–Nathu La highway. Tsomgo Lake, also known as Changu Lake, is about 1 km long and 15 meters deep, surrounded by lush green landscapes and snow-capped peaks. It is one of the most popular tourist sites in the region. During winter, the lake freezes completely. From May to July, the alpine landscape offers a variety of flowers including gentians, primulas, irises, poppies, and rhododendrons. You can also enjoy a yak ride around the lake. Later, visit Baba Mandir, also known as Baba Harbhajan Singh Temple, located between Nathu La and Jelep La at an altitude of 13,125 ft. Return to Gangtok. In the evening, you are free to explore MG Road and local markets for shopping.

Option: Visit Nathula Pass, the historic link between India and China (closed on Mondays and Tuesdays). You will pass through splendid snow-capped mountain views. (Only local vehicles with permits are allowed

After breakfast at the hotel, drive to Lachen (approx. 107 km / 6 hrs), situated at 8,500 ft. This picturesque village, surrounded by pine-clad mountains and snow-capped peaks, is a top tourist destination.

En route, visit:

• Tashi Viewpoint – A scenic spot offering breathtaking views of Mt. Khangchendzonga.

• Kabi Lungstok – Historic site of the “Blood Brotherhood Treaty” and a paradise for bird watchers.

• Sightseeing options: Phodong Monastery, Phensang Monastery, Seven Sisters Waterfalls (a seven-tiered cascade), and the sacred Emerald Lake.

• Naga Waterfalls (between Mangan and Chungthang).

Pass through Chungthang, where the Lachen Chu and Lachung Chu rivers meet. Upon arrival in Lachen, check in to the hotel. The rest of the day is free for leisure. Dinner and overnight stay in Lachen.

After breakfast at the hotel, drive to Gurudongmar Lake. En route, visit Chopta Valley (13,200 ft), offering panoramic views of the snow-capped Himalayan range. Then, proceed to Gurudongmar Lake (approx. 30 km / 1.5 hrs), one of the world’s highest lakes at 17,100 ft, near the Tibet border.

Named after Guru Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche), the founder of Tibetan Buddhism, the lake is surrounded by snow-capped mountains and filled with crystal-clear icy water. It is a sacred site for Hindus, Sikhs, and Buddhists.

Upon arrival, check in to the hotel. The rest of the day is free for relaxation. Dinner and overnight stay will be in Lachung.

After breakfast at the hotel, proceed to Yumthang Valley (approx. 25 km / 2 hrs one-way) at an altitude of 12,000 ft. Known as the “Valley of Flowers,” it offers stunning alpine meadows and vibrant blooms.

The valley is covered with snow during January to March & with rhododendrons during April & May

En route, visit:

• Hot Spring – Renowned for its therapeutic healing properties.

• Singba Rhododendron Sanctuary – Home to a rich variety of rhododendron shrubs.

Return to Lachung for lunch at a local restaurant. Later, visit Lachung Monastery, a serene Nyingma Buddhist gompa. The rest of the day is free to explore the picturesque Lachung Valley. Dinner and overnight stay will be in Lachung.

Optional (on extra cost): Excursion to Yumesamdong (Zero Point)

After breakfast at the hotel, return to Gangtok (approx. 6-hour drive). En route, stop at Singhik View Point for spectacular views of the mighty Mt. Khangchendzonga and Mt. Siniolchu. Upon arrival, check in to the hotel. The evening is free to explore MG Road and local markets for shopping. Dinner and overnight stay will be in Gangtok.
