DOUBLE DECKER LIVING ROOT BRIDGE TREK- NONGRIAT:- Cherrapunjee -one of the wettest places on Earth. Trekked through the prettiest villages and narrow streams to make her way to its incredible, fantastical Living Root bridges. . The dense jungle and uninterrupted rains of Meghalaya. The Double-decker living root bridge near Nongriat village in Meghalaya state, India. The bridge is made from the roots of rubber trees .
On arrival at Guwahati airport meet and greet by company representative. Drive to Shillong approx 120 kms/ 3 Hours one of the best hill roads in Indiam. Driving along the smooth four-lane highway in the scenic hills is a rare and wonderful experience. En route visit Umiam lake about 20 km before Shillong a very popular tourist spot and option for boating and water game . Upon check In hotel . Rest of the day is free . Dinner and Overnight stay will be at Shillong .
After breakfast at Hotel Proceed to Cherrapunjee- one of the wettest places on Earth. We drive through Meghalaya's rolling hills, enjoying sublime views of its craggy cliff-faces and rugged vegetation. We stopped a couple of times to enjoy the breathtaking views of the mountains. taken straight to the caving point, which lies ahead of the main Cherrapunjee town, for an exciting excursion into the subterranean world. Trekked for around 45 minutes to reach the mouth of the Krem Mawmluh cave s is situated approximately half a kilometre west of Cherrapunjee, interesting formations. Water, limestone and sandstone have collaborated to make amazing and exquisite structures within the cave. complete the entire 7 km stretch . Dinner and Overnight stay will be at Cherrapunjee.
After breakfast drive to Tyrna village approx 45 min the starting point of the trek. From Tyrna village, You have to climbed down 3,000 steps or so, crossing two tiny villages with small shops that served as refreshments stops. The trek took us through beautiful green forests and across two intimidating iron rope bridges that span acrossa crystal clear blue river that is fed by the water of the famous Nohkalikai falls . You can swim in the Natural ponds. Later proceed reached to the village of Nongriat and its amazing little root bridge. From here, we were able to catch a glimpse of the majestic 250-year-old double-decker living root bridge. Lunch and Dinner at Home stays in Nongriat village.
Early Morning return Tryan village by climb of 3000 Steps . At the end of the climb took some time out to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and great views of the Khasi hills. Later Spend some time Cherrapunjee waterfalls . Proceed to Guwhati en route Lunch . Upon Check In hotel and Refresh yourself . In the evening, we drive down to the ferry point on the banks of the Brahmaputra to catch the Alfresco Grand vessel. Alfresco Grand houses the first floating cruise cum-bar on the river Brahmaputra, with a fine dining AC restaurant. Overnight stay will be Guwahati
After breakfast , Proceed to Guwhati Airport en route visit Khamkhya Temple ( If Time Allows ) In time transfer to Guwhati Airport for onward Journey
